S.O.S. Inc. conducted a technology analysis for Newbury schools which resulted in the formulation of a district-wide technology plan. This plan addressed the issues of learning changes in the 21st century, going from a passive to active-engaged learner using PCs as the pencil and paper. Wiring schematics were set-up classroom by classroom throughout the buildings, with a recommendation to connect the major buildings with an underground gel-pic fiber. Hardware and software was evaluated and recommended for phase implementation on an enterprise network supporting at least 3 or 4 file servers. Curriculum issues were addressed for the seamless implementation of technology by grade level and discipline.
The technology plan became the basis for the School-Net Plus and School-Net applications which were written and submitted to the state for Newbury's share of state technology funds. Newbury received approval for funds on all applications within weeks of submission. Newbury is presently, plotting the installation of their network, hardware and software. Return.
